Waziri wa Nchi Ofisi ya Rais Menejimenti ya Utumishi wa Umma na Utawala Bora mhe. George Mkuchika amepongeza hatua ya Mfuko wa Maendeleo ya Jamii-TASAF kubuni utaratibu mzuri wa kuwashirikisha wananchi katika ujenzi wa miradi ya maendeleo kwenye maeneo yao.

Mhe. Mkuchika amesema utaratibu huo siyo tu kwamba unapunguza gharama bali unawafanya wananchi kuithamini miradi hiyo na kuitunza kutokana na kutumia nguvu na jasho lao katika kuitekeleza.

Waziri huyo ameyasema hayo mwishoni mwa juma baada ya kutembelea kijiji cha Mwahango katika halmashauri ya wilaya ya Singida ambako alikagua jengo la zahanati lililojengwa na TASAF kwa kuwashirikisha wananchi kijijini hapo.

Aidha Mhe. Mkuchika ameupongeza mkoa wa Singida kwa kusimamia zoezi la uandikishaji Walengwa wa Mpango wa Kunusuru Kaya Maskini kwa uaminifu na hivyo kupunguza kwa kiwango kikubwa idadi ya Watu wasiostahili kujumuishwa kwenye Mpango huo kinyume cha utaratibu.

Akiwa kijijini hapo Waziri Mkuchika alipata ushuhuda wa mafanikio waliyoyapata baadhi ya Walengwa wa Mpango wa Kunusuru Kaya masikini ambao wameweza kuboresha maisha yao katika nyanja za makazi, lishe,uanzishaji wa miradi ya kiuchumi ,kusomesha watoto na kujiunga na mfuko wa bima ya afya ya jamii na hivyo kupata huduma ya matibabu katika kipindi chote cha mwaka.

Taarifa ya utekelezaji wa shughuli za TASAF mkoani Singida imeonyesha kuwa, mafanikio makubwa yamepatikana tangu kuanza utekelezaji wa Mpango wa kunusuru kaya maskini mkoani humo hususani katika kuamsha ari ya wananchi kuuchukia umaskini kwa vitendo.

Hata hivyo taarifa hiyo imeiomba serikali kupitia TASAF kukamilisha zoezi la kuvijumuisha vijiji vingine ambavyo wananchi wao hawakupata fursa ya kunufaika na huduma za Mpango katika awamu ya kwanza ya utambuzi iliyofanyika mkoani humo mwaka 2014.

Waziri Mkuchika amesema serikali inalifanyia kazi suala hilo kwa juhudi zaidi kwani utekelezaji wa Mpango wa Kunusuru Kaya maskini umefanyika kwa asilimia 70 tu kutokana na ufinyu wa fedha ,hata hivyo kutokana na Mpango huo kuwagusa wananchi wanaokabiliwa na umaskini moja kwa moja, utaratibu mzuri unaaandaliwa ili wananchi wote wanaostahili kujumuishwa kwenye Mpango waweze kutambuliwa hususani katika vijiji ambavyo havinufaiki na Mpango huo kwa sasa.

TANZANIA Social Action Fund –TASAF- came first among 19 basket funds following an analysis by the National Economic Empowerment Council (NEEC) to establish contribution to members of the public to alleviate poverty. TASAF scored 81 points to become a winner in its category.

TASAF has been carrying out a number of programmes including Productive Social Safety Net (PSSN) and Community Based Conditional Cash Transfer (CBCCT).The programmes aim to help people living in abject poverty to engage in income generating activities. Currently, PSSN saves more than 1.1 MILLION poor households from both Tanzania mainland and Zanzibar.

The award was given during 2nd Economic Empowerment Forum in Tanzanian Capital City –Dodoma.

Speaking after presenting an award to staff members, TASAF executive Director Mr. Ladislaus Mwamanga pointed out that, the victory should motivate them to work even harder for the benefit of the nation and especially poor households who are in the PSSN program.

“It’s yet another testimony of how TASAF is seriously working to meet the government’s policy against poverty” he emphasized Mr. Mwamanga.

According to NEEC a number of criteria were used to analysis projects including the value to the public, a number of beneficiaries based on gender, sectors impacted by the projects and other services provided by the funds. The analysis also focused on the funds which offer grants and those offer loans or facilitate people to access loans,” observed the statement.

Other basket funds were the National Entrepreneurs Development Fund (NEDF), Mwananchi Empowerment Fund (MEF), Small and Medium Enterprises Credit Guarantee Scheme (SME-CGS), Contractors Assistance Fund (CAF) and Tanzania Education Fund (TEF).

Others are Agricultural Inputs Trust Fund (AGITF), Presidential Trust Fund (PTF), Youth Development Fund (YDF), Women Development Fund (WDF), SELF Microfinance, UTT Microfinance, Private Agricultural Sector Support (PASS  Trust Fund) and JK Fund.The Kilimo Kwanza Catalytic Fund (KKCF), Rural Energy Agency (REA) and Tanzania Forest Fund (TaFF).
